Introduction

Syntphony Smart Multi-Cloud Management (hereinafter SSMCM) is the ultimate tool developed by NTT DATA Syntphony to manage multi-cloud environments providing a view of 'single pane of glass', allowing an efficient operation, inconsistencies detection (powered by AI), controlled task scheduling and implementing DevOps methodologies.

SSMCM allows clients and project managers a simplified visualization of all the resources that their Projects use in the cloud in a unified way, even if they are located in different providers, thus having A better view of the scope.

Definition and scope

SSMCM has two main objectives:

  • Unlocks cloud efficiently operatations on clients' public cloud.
  • Allows clients, autonomously, to have a global vision of their resources in the Cloud and manage them with a minimal technical footprint.

In both cases, SSMCM provides information on:

  • Inventory of all resources.
  • Actions to be executed directly on the resources from SSMCM (off, on, backups, etc.).
  • Scheduler, which allows you to perform certain actions on resources based on schedules.
  • Compliance rules, which allows you to check the current status of resources based on the rules implemented in the platform, which defines the good practices and endorsed by the main Cloud providers.
  • Various management tasks and utilities, accessible depending on the permissions of each user.

This document tries to be a guide to know and use the tool in a simple and efficient way.

Target user

The target users of the application can be divided into several groups:

  • Technicians, which allows them to operate on resources according to their authorized profile.
  • Customer managers, to have an overview of the elements that are managed from their area.
  • Technology managers, allowing to visualize in an easy and orderly way all the components that affect your project(s).

Update cycle

As mentioned above, SSMCM is a living tool in continuous development. In addition, we take advantage of the advantages of the DevOps methodology to make small continuous releases of the new functionalities that are going Deploying, without having to wait for a "major" version for long periods.

All modifications, fixes and improvements that are implemented, are available under the section "Changelog", from the SSMCM user menu, once logged in (described later in this document).

In any case, short, medium and long-term planning is available. In conjunction with updates frequent, larger versions will be launched, collecting all those modifications that have been implemented, approximately every calendar quarter of the year, that is, the second fortnight of the months March, June, September and December. In these major updates, users will be notified of the release, with a summary of the major Changes made to the tool.
